services for the petroleum industry. We specialize in layout and engineering design for:
retail/convenience store facilities, truck fueling facilities, fleet-fueling facilities, bulk
plants, marina and airport fueling systems, emergency generator installations, aboveground
storage tank systems, and numerous other petroleum system applications. Stillwater professionals
have built extensive relationships with major oil companies and petroleum marketers to better
understand the needs of the retail operation, and with petroleum industry suppliers such as
equipment manufacturers, petroleum system contractors, and other specialized industry providers
such as canopy manufacturers and signage/imaging companies to better understand the latest
industry technology. Our engineers and designers have an intimate knowledge of the important and
unique aspects of a fueling facility, and are experienced with the specialized regulatory
environment that applies to petroleum related operations. Municipal Land Development Code
routinely includes specialized criteria for fueling facilities and Stillwater is experienced in
identifying these criteria. Other regulations such as State rules which address performance
standards for petroleum systems (i.e. Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-761), NFPA, and
NEC are also well understood by Stillwater professionals.
- Customers: Stillwater strives to understand the needs of their petroleum
clients and to provide a site design that incorporates their specific requirements, and optimizes
use of the property given the surrounding demographics, future development, competition, and
traffic flows. Considerations such as the quantity of fueling positions, tank sizes, store size,
car wash offering, spacing within and around the fueling areas, and more are evaluated with each
customer. Understanding the retail end of the industry is key to providing valuable input.
- Regulations: Stillwater stays familiar with the regulatory environment
surrounding the petroleum industry and regularly communicates with environmental agencies to
stay on top of new rules and code which impact these projects. Because of our in-house
Environmental Consulting services, we have full-service capabilities to deal with existing or
new environmental conditions, and to coordinate new site development issues with ongoing
environmental assessment or remediation efforts at sites.
- Contractors: Stillwater works closely with petroleum system contractors
(PSSC) to better understand issues related to the layout of the petroleum storage tanks and
distribution system including the piping and dispensers. We have worked with most PSSC’s in
Florida and numerous others throughout the Southeast.
- Equipment: Stillwater works closely with petroleum equipment
manufacturers and suppliers to keep up to date on the ever- changing products and equipment. We are familiar with numerous tank designs, dispenser models, piping and sump
products, and monitoring systems. We keep an extensive library of petroleum equipment
drawings and specifications to be used for the clients specific needs
